Letter 18: Sport Me In

To Tim,
Watching games has never been my hobby. Paying attention to ball games somehow just doesn’t attract me, but I do like playing sports. Among all the sports, I like volleyball and basketball which require team work and are fun and easy when you play with friends. I am not good at them at all, but people don’t have to be good to enjoy the happiness, do they? And I like swimming too. I am much better at swimming in the water than running on land.
Have you ever ridden a horse by yourself? I love horses and I have had a summer camp learning how to ride and look after horses when I was in America. They weren’t ponies so they were really tall. I learnt how to brush, pet, feed, and know their feelings by their emotions. It’s a very special experience.

I’ve traveled half across the world to this charming country, Brazil.
Below is a hand-made book I made as my homework, you can know more about my trip.

Letter 16: My Winter Vacation

To Tim:
I’ve heard of the Groundhog’s Day before. It’s a cute and special holiday seeing the groundhog coming out. Do you think it’s true that they can predict the weather?
Talking about animal bites, I saw a similar creature in my winter vacation. Sorry that I couldn’t share my Chinese New Year because me and my family went to Brazil! So, let me finish the creature description first. In our journey, we went to Foz do Iguacu for three days to see the waterfall, which is one of the three biggest waterfalls in the world. And we met the “South American coati” that lives in tropical areas in South America. They aren’t scared of humans, so they wander around the paths through people. We thought they were really cute at first but changed our minds when it came to lunch time. Two of my family members saw one of them grab a women’s bag off a bench and dig into it. The woman and the child beside let out a scream of fright. Then it found a pack of Cheetos and tore the package into pieces. And A LOT of them came, fighting for the food and squeaking at the same time. It’s very scary.
